Secrets Of A Girl Having Fun... Whoppie Pies

WHOPPIE PIES. In eating these delectable delights my whole world opened up and I now see every delicious desert in a completely different light!
For those who were as clueless as I was! (and to be honest still am!) a Whoppie pie is basically similar to the structure of an oreo or a macroon but instead of an almost chewy texture it has more of the texture of a cupcake which has been cut in half and the icing is in the centre of it -my brother likes to think of them as a 'cupcake smore'.
I dont know why I had been restricted of this yummy concoction  but all I know is that before last Christmas I was not aware of what a Whoopie pie was - Thank goodness England have started to have more of these now. Originally, I first received a whoopie pie baking tray and a little pink spatual for christmas in my stocking as well as a batch of Stonewall Kitchen red velvet whoopee pie mix. Now I know that this is a bit of a cheat but to be honest I was so clueless about Whoopie's I probably would have made them all wrong.

Considering this picture was my first attempt I think it isn't too shabby! - Ok thanks to a bit of strategic photography they do look edible!
I know I could just be being completely clueless about Whoppies Pies but I really do recommend this cake mix for those Whoopie Pie virgins as I think they are a great way to discover this delight.

They do a mixture of flavours and for my second attempt I went for a vanilla flavour and just added some fresh fruit as I was feeling a but more creative! -They were utterly delicious if I do say so myself.
- I really do urge those with a sweet tooth and feel like branching out from cupcakes to have a peek on google or somewhere of what an actually Whoopie pie is suppose to look at because mine arent the most polished creations and they really are an easy and fun thing to make.

until next time,
